This afternoon, I was awarded The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta) for my work with cancer communities and my local branch of UELAC, the United Empire Loyalists’ Association of Canada.


This venture started off with a thought: “I love cats and spending time with them. I wonder if it’s a viable small business idea to become a cat sitter and have my catchment area be where I can ride my bike to within 25 minutes of my home?” The name Cat Mom Calgary popped into mind immediately as to what my business should be called.

I’ve just successfully completed this disaster preparedness course offered by Pet Sitters International so I can continue being the best cat sitter I can be to my clients, many of whom are also on floodplains, and look after my own family and cat.

My cat sitting ethos has always been based around what each cat needs to thrive while their human families are away and how I can make the cat sitting experience as positive as possible for every cat in my care. Fear Free is part of my continuing education on cats and cat care; this approach is based on the current and best cat behavioural science, knowledge, and practices available.

We love Paws daycare! I first tried them with a referral from one of my friends and she was absolutely right about everything she said. First of all they are a cage free facility and they do pack walks which is great! The team is amazing, our puppy needs to learn some manners and I was amazed how well he behaved after couple of visits.. He can now participate the pack walks and socialize better. He is so tired after the daycare, sleeps like an angel They also share the day with Instagram pics and videos which is always fun to see. Highly recommended!

Our 2 dogs are long time happy clients. There is a discount for your second pooch. The staff are great and the frequent themed photo shoots are inspired and so much fun.

If you want a fun, exciting, and safe place for your dog Paws is the place! Busch has been going for a year now and the staff are absolutely amazing.
