Summit School of Dance & Music has been chosen as a Favourite in the 2017 Metro Community Choice Awards – Best Dance Studio category!

We had been holding off on signing our daughter up for classes next year to see how some other activities went for her over the summer. But she was so proud of herself today after the recital that there is no way we can’t put her back into it!

We’ve danced in a couple of places in Calgary and found Summit School of Dance to be the overall most satisfying experience. The teachers are passionate and professional, and unlike other schools, the fact that our daughter isn’t a perfect ballerina body type has never been an issue. We like that they reinforce positive body image and don’t make her feel like there are classes she can’t do because she’s not “the type”. It would be nice if they had their recitals closer to where we live, but I am sure getting a space large enough in the city to hold everyone at once isn’t as easy as picking up the phone. It can be a little pricey, but we have a son in hockey and it doesn’t even come close to touching that so we don’t complain too much about price.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Summit School of Dance and Music. My daughter is a very shy and quiet girl and with the continued positive role modelling from the teachers at Summit it has brought her out of her shell. Her grades have improved as well as her confidence, her teacher at school commented and said whatever we were doing to continue it.. I also love the fact Summit is so committed to teaching dance technique and not just interested in teaching cool moves. Children who dance should have structure as well as strength in the art and not just learn routines Summit does this with pride so thank you all at Summit.

I've taught here for 1.5 years. I've taught at many studios in Calgary and this is the only one I will teach at in town. Bryan and his teachers are all really nice, understanding, accommodating, and put people first (in front of business). This attitude is a gem and makes for a pleasant human experience. The studio may not look like much from the outside but inside reveals a beautiful, spacious seating area (other studios tend to cram every foot with merchandise) with a big TV. Bryan, the owner, himself is a musician and teacher and understands the ins and outs of being a student and teacher. The business is run with thought, care, and ethics. I wish Leroux Studios all the best!

A great range of talented and personable instructors and lovely people to work with. My daughter has been having lessons there for a while and just started learning a second instrument because she enjoys it so much. Their prices are also very reasonable. Strongly recommend!

Bryan is a wonderful and attentive teacher, and has curated a team of like-minded instructors. You can tell that he has really put his heart and soul into his business, and that teaching music is truly his passion. I would recommend music lessons here to anyone.

I have had lessons at a number of studios in Calgary over the years and Leroux Music Studios is by far the best studio I have ever attended - a real gem - Owner Bryan is a talented musician and music teacher - a very pleasant, patient man with a passion for music teaching. I also love that Leroux Music Studios truly welcomes all ages and offers lessons in many musical disciplines. Leroux Music Studios is my absolute "go-to" studio in Calgary.

In January I will be entering into my third year of music lessons at Leroux Music Studios and can't say enough positive things about what the experience has been for me. I have always loved music, find it to be very therapeutic. I started out with voice and nine months later decided to take piano as well. The management and staff at Leroux Music Studios go the extra step to make sure the needs of the students are being met. I would highly recommend any one, any age to come out for a trial lesson, discover the music in you!!

"Phill is hands down THE best music instructor. This is the 3rd instrument I am learning. My 8 and 10 year old children are also taking lessons from Phill as well (Grandma just started too!!). He always asks what songs we want to learn, tailors the lessons for our diverse music experience and is always very punctual and organized. His ability to write tab by ear is incredible. After 1.5 years of lessons, my 8 year old daughter was able to confidently play Metallica on the electric guitar for her grade 3 class. They are always excited to see Phill (and add to his growing collection of origami). We have never had any issues booking convenient timeslots for our semesters. Very professional, knowledgable and always friendly.

Joey has had other guitar teachers and found Phil was really good at providing ways for Joey to be able to actually play interesting music right away.
