The Yoga Shala Calgary: what do users think?

Subhadip Das: 4. Nice, spacious place.5. Recommendation: highly recommended. Please attend if you are interested in Yoga . Feel the peace and inner strength in you with the wonderful instructors. Om 🙏 Namaste

Kasia: This is a wonderful place to practice yoga, with all the instructors being super kind, accommodating, and supportive. I want to give a special shoutout to Ariffa, I have thoroughly enjoyed your Yin classes, and I think you're an amazing instructor, and such a kind soul.

Jim Washbrook: Excellent noon hour class with Allison. Nice ambience in the studio and good food at the Cafe downstairs.

Disha Kumar: I am so glad!!! Yogashala has permanent place now but now I live permanently in Southwest. I miss you guys!!

Krista Phillips: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismThis studio offers a great selection of online streaming classes that are convenient, high quality and affordable. Highly recommended.

Kim McPhillips: My husband and I have been attending classes at the Shala for a few years now. The teaching staff is amazing...and Dana is a real motivator. We continue to look forward to virtual classes.

Dewey Noordhof: Legendary studio with genuinely kind teachers.

Janet W.: , the modification still lets us experience the intended benefit of the pose.Like I said, I just can’t say enough wonderful things about Dana and all the other amazing teachers at the Yoga Shala.

Noreen Samra: . For various life stuff reasons, I stopped going regularly, but continued a home practice, inspired by my Shala time. They were always in the back of my mind and in 2020, I was able to return. The Shala is amazing; inclusive, welcoming, genuine and really relaxed. The community is low-key and friendly. I just love it and am so glad to be back!

Donna Sheppard: Due to my travel schedule, I end up at different yoga studios around the globe. But I always come back to the Yoga Shala. The level of instruction is top drawer. There is a respect for the practice that permeates through the studio, and the teaching staff. We are now in an online world, and The Shala is still a cut above the rest. They have latched onto the technology and have worked out the best way to engage with the students from a-far.Instructors like to see us and engage with us. It still feels personal. The cueing is exceptional and, though I am a million miles away in Kenya, I feel part of the community and so grateful to be able to practice with them.

Christy Switzer: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI've been taking classes here for many years. High quality instruction and a warm, judgement-free community keep me coming back. Grateful for thier efforts to maintain classes during covid. Being able to take classes with great teachers, even from my home, has saved my sanity.

Marcella Campbell: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismA great community of yogi instructors, experience and knowledge. I've been going to the shala for years!

Ken Farley: I always enjoy attending classes at Yoga Shala. The staff is very helpful and enthusiastic, creating a very positive atmosphere. As an aging boomer, I see Yoga Shala playing a critical role in assisting me to achieve my lifestyle and fitness goals over the next few decades.

Marie-Hélène Jacob: I have been practicing at the Yoga Shala for the last 12 years. Dana is the best owner and really cares about her students. All of the teachers that teach there are very committed and have been teaching there for a long time. Gord teaches such a great restorative class and Alexis' Hips and Hammies class is the best. I enjoy the chanting and the challenge this class offers. Whenever I can attend Holly's Yoga Nidra class I always feel grateful and at peace afterwards. I have attended many of the noon ashtanga classes that are taught by Dana, Lee, & Nicole are especially good. Mina's restorative class is a really nice way to end the day. This community offers a significant amount of support coupled with joking/laughter. They have also offered 30 day challenges, workshops with Kino McGregor, and Tim Miller and many other world renowned ashtanga instructors as well as other workshops like sound bowl meditation and handstand etc... The support is there to deepen my practice as much or as little as I want. Jan who facilitates the early morning mysore classes is the kindest and very generous person not to mention extremely knowledgable. I can't say enough great things about the Yoga Shala.

Nicole N: Great instruction offered with expertise and humour. A great yoga experience!

Bobbi Bachynski: I absolutely love the Yoga Shala, I would give it 10 stars if I could! For many years I struggled to find a studio where I felt totally comfortable on my mat, and I found it at the Shala. The beautiful community of the Shala is welcoming to all levels of practice and I've met some incredible people in the process. The owner, Dana, truly cares about each of her students and is passionate, light-hearted and an incredible teacher!

Michelle Baillargeon: The Yoga Shala is so much more than a yoga studio. It is the most beautiful community where anyone can feel comfortable coming to their mat exactly as they are right now. Ashtanga style yoga has helped me build up my strength and practice mindfulness through breathing meditations. I always leave classes feeling 100% better mentally, spiritually and physically. Dana is an amazing owner and this is easily one of the best small businesses in Calgary. I can not recommend the Shala enough.

Susan Dohrman: From the moment you walk into the Shala you've entered a new space, a place of restoration and peace. The staff is lovely and so helpful. The classes I take, designed for seniors, taught by Nicole are so amazing. Her consideration of some member's limitations always noted as she helps everyone present have their best experience. I highly recommend the Yoga Shala.

Susan Tse Chen: I have been going to Yoga Shala for two years. I mostly do Astanga but love the different variety of classes from Hips & Hammies to Flow and Restorative. Depending on my body and how I feel for the day, I choose the class that fits me. I really wish I started going to Yoga especially Yoga Shala long ago but didn’t til my family doctor highly recommended the benefits for me. I now realize not only the physical but also the mental health of my body is so important. The benefits I have gained from Yoga Shala through all the teachers are amazing and changed my life forever. I hope Dana keeps Yoga Shala running for a long long time. She is an amazing person, owner and instructor, always available to help or talk. Her team of instructors are top notch! This is the only yoga studio I feel a sense of community.

The Yoga Studio: what do users think?

Yuz Scarpelli: I have been practicing at this yoga studio since 2018. Really enjoy the classes here.Variety style of yoga classes you can choose.Instructors are good!I'll continue to practice yoga here for sure!😊🧘

Kate Van Pernis: Monica's Prenatal Yoga class has made my pregnancy so much more comfortable, manageable, and even enjoyable. I'm in my 3rd session of classes and still learn new poses and techniques in every class. Yoga is one of the research-backed prenatal activities that can help with labour and delivery, so I knew I wanted to try it out. I'm so glad I listened to multiple friends' recommendations for The Yoga Studio of Calgary. The community that Monica has created and the soreness, tightness, and pain the class relieves each week has been such a gift in these uncomfortable months!

Tammie R: I look forward to many more classes under her instruction. 😊

Heather Scholz: The first time I participated in yoga was this fall when I found the Yoga for Better Backs class. The practice has done more for my back than Physio or other therapies. I am now registered for my 4th session. The instructors are very caring and knowledgeable. I appreciate the flexibility to attend in person or on-line.

Rob Firminger: Excellent instruction and individual attention during class.

Valerie Schumacher: I really enjoy the yoga class I attend and the professional and enthusiastic instruction that I receive. I believe that increased flexibility helps me to stay healthy as I age. But I miss the larger studio that merged with this one.

Belinda Ramscar: I have been attending this studio for well over a decade. It is warm and intimate. There are a great variety of practices and workshops. The teachers are fantastic.

Karen Thomas: I have been going to The Yoga Studio for a few months now. I have found the studio to be a warm and welcoming environment with a variety of options for payment so you can make a choice depending on how often you will be attending classes. The instructors at the classes I have attended are excellent - giving clear instruction, encouraging students to work to their full potential while also giving modifications for poses if a certain pose is not available to you. I'm very much looking forward to continuing my yoga journey at the studio in 2023!

Heather & Ray Ambler:

Larry McDougall:

Bradley Brown:

Yoga Sarana YYC: what do users think?

Lisa: This is a great little studio, I have done a few yoga classes now and let me tell you… I am not a yogi… I don’t even like yoga, but I do it occasionally because I told myself I’d be more kind to my body this year and mix in some yoga instead of all HIIT classes. This studio actually changed my mind on yoga, although still very difficult they offer so many variations with props and ensure you are comfortable in every move you do. Vic was very patient with me and even tho I’m in my 30’s my body acts like it’s 90 lol. The hips and hamstring class is great, iyengar was such a cool form, I really enjoyed it. I will continue going! The only thing to note is there is a karate studio above the yoga so occasionally during some classes you can hear a “thud” on the ground from the people hitting the floor lol. Overall I appreciate yoga sarana! Thank you for your practice!

Julia Rosh: Simple, but great place! Carolyn and Debby are my favorite teachers❤️ Recommend, especially if you live nearby.

Meg Protz: The teachers are all so knowledgeable and inclusive. They are able to accommodate from beginner to expert practitioners. Would highly recommend.

Suzy Shi: Great spot for morning yoga and coffee.

Sapna Gupta: Of all the different yoga studios I’ve tried, this one takes the cake. It’s not about the bells and whistles; Here it’s about authenticity and expertise. I’ve seen more progress coming here in three months than I’ve seen going to other places for years.Yoga Director Vic is exceptional at this art and he takes the time to show his students adjustments and alternatives. He’s been studying the skill for decades and knows how to engage his students so they see incredible results and keep coming back for more.If you’re looking for a masterclass in yoga, look no further!

Anna S: Love this place so much! It's got such a chill vibe, awesome teachers and I always feel peaceful after class 3

Kasia: There's a really good variety of classes, good instructors, and lots of props. My only complaint would be parking but that's out of the control of the studio.

Nicholas Wood: Love this place, keeps me flexible and makes my joints happy. Must stop if you are into Yoga.

judy clare: Great staff and lovely atmosphere. Classes are great for whatever level I am any given day.

Kyle Kuchma: I have nothing but great things to say about this studio and cafe! I’ve been here around 5 times now and the staff and owners have been extremely friendly and great to talk to!

Kyra Sherman: My favourite yoga studio in Calgary! The new location is beautiful and a perfect location.

Shawn Johnston: I'm new to yoga and I was very hesitant to take a class. The staff were really helpful and walked me through all the different options for passes and which class would best suit my experience. So I took the class, I loved it.The teacher was really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be taking more classes.

Joel Goullet: I have tried to start yoga 3 times prior at other locations and have given up within 3 sessions. 4th time lucky, I could not be happy with yoga Sarana. I have been to vic and martha’s Classes. Vic is fantastic, he provides great instruction without making you feel like you are a nuisance to the class. Martha is also great, her relaxed vibe sets the tone for the class. Highly recommend. Ps it’s a little tricky initially to work out how to get in, I suggest calling reception prior

Laurie Y: Just started a little over a month ago and have been loving it! Fantastic instructors!

Danger Daz: Great teachers, friendly welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for beginner and expert yogis alike looking to improve their practice

Kristin Link: A great mix of classes, and superb group of teachers! Something for everyone.

Natalie Mason: The studio had a fantastic atmosphere. The teacher was great and really invited you to explore and honor your body. It was challenging but so enjoyable

Lana P: Yoga Passage is the home of the only public Mysore Ashtanga classes in Calgary with Jeff Lichty who was authorized to teach Ashtanga by the founder of the method. Jeff is a very experienced and attentive teacher who helps to safely explore physical and psychological aspects of the practice. Mysore classes are a great format for beginners - the practice is developed step by step, under the guidance of the teacher. Mysore at Passage is also a supportive community with a lot of smiles and laughter that helps to find lightness and ease when faced with challenges on and off the mat.

Heather Grant: Great atmosphere, clean change rooms, excellent big hot studio space and a wonderful instructor! I willbe returning

David Joseph: Had a GREAT time! Felt like I was challenged + learning a lot...and love the energy / vibe of Kristin, Lindsay and Tracy 👍😁

Jason Underhill: I recently took my 3rd breath work/ sound bath hosted by Jodi at Passage. Very powerful evening, hard to describe all that these sessions can be, very humbling and such a curiosity to discover what a simple breathing pattern can do and where it can take you. I will be returning for more, recommend to friends and gift to friends as well. Can't wait for the next one! Blessed. 🙏

Erika Ugur: The 300 hr Yoga Alliance Teacher Training at Yoga Passage truly opened my eyes to the truth of how limitless Yoga can be. Guided by professionals ranging from Acupuncturist Body Workers to Musicians to top level Ashtangis; the variety of the program is matchless. But not only is the breadth impressive; the depth of each immersion also stands out. Taking this training not only helped me clarify my own Spiritual direction, it also connected me with a deeply nourishing community.

Yoga Santosha Mission: what do users think?

Kimberly Olson: I loved the quality of teaching, especially loved the reflections and language Jordan used throughout the Yin/yang class on Monday morning. Staff were very friendly and genuine, the space is beautiful and I love the change rooms and little extra thoughtful touches around the space. It felt like a spa experience. I will be back! Looking forward to class next time I am in town! Thank you!

Craig Morris: All the regular day and evening yoga classes are well taught and very enjoyable. I particularly admire the aesthetic of the studio in Mission. That studio is my favourite. A full 5-star review from me!

Alnoor Jaffer: Great instructions and ambiance.

Rick Bhatti: Both the front desk staff and the instructor were extremely welcoming and supportive. Such a great atmosphere here!

Marlo Hertling: Beautiful studio, friendly team. Went out of their way to accommodate us even though many I our group had not signed up ahead of time.

Sophie Updike: Such a great experience. Beautiful space and very kind and welcoming staff/teachers.

The Lighthouse: I love the airy sun filled studio. This really sets the space for amazing energy. The teachers here are incredible... down to earth, healing and has more knowledge about yoga that they happily share. From actual asana sanskrit names to slogas that are sung. The sounds healing on Wednesdays is incredible. Mission location does yoga right! Definitely a sanctuary.

Erin Michelle: I had the opportunity to experience Jordan's Yin/Yang class. This yoga was a beginner & quiet contemplative practice, where we worked deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses. I found that Jordan did an exceptional job with communication and the journey of the experience. I felt an emotional weight lifted as the class ended. Jordan is an excellent instructor.

Anna F: I took Sara’s beginner class and it was amazing!!! Would highly recommend 10/10

Savannah Greene: This is a really beautiful studio.I came while travelling and am happy I went.

Erica Downer: Beautiful space! Great classes. Have been really enjoying my membership

Yoga In Bowness: what do users think?

Tietje White: I love this studio so much. I’ve been coming here for years and like it better than any other studio I’ve ever practiced at. The management recently changed, but the heart of the studio has not. The community is really friendly and welcoming, and it feels truly inclusive to all people, ages, bodies, abilities. It’s not competitive/glam-fitness yoga; it’s down to earth and the classes and teachers embody the principles of mindfulness, radical acceptance, self compassion, etc., while encouraging you to find your edges and to keep stretching and growing in all the best ways. I always feel better after every class.

Ravi Kumar: . Both have been very helpful in keeping my back alignment and strength in place. This has now vastly reduced my visits to chiro and physio.Thank you Yoga MCC 🙏

Ashley Lethbridge: This studio is more than just a spot to stop for a yoga class. It is personable and is an easy spot to build meaningful relationships in community. There is a nice mix intensity in different classes for whatever your body and mind are feeling. A hidden gem.

Izzy Al: Best yoga studio I have ever been to. So grounding and peaceful, all the teachers are wondering and I always leave feeling better than when I came in. Many yoga studios just focus on the physical workout but yoga in Bowness focused on the whole experience. Would absolutely recommend.

Moira Cimolai: It was super fantastic

Daniel S: Every time I go, I remind myself I need to make it out more often. It's a friendly, appealing environment, and I'm always impressed by the very high quality of the instructors.

Melissa V: I got the new members pass a couple weeks ago and have attended 7 classes and they have all been great. The studio space is very calming, the classes are a nice size and everyone has been very friendly. I attended two classes virtually and while it wasn't as nice as being in the studio it is great to have that option when I can't make it to the studio.

Michelle Omilusik: This was my first ever yoga class. I was made very welcome and comfortable. Christine checked in with me throughout. It pushed me, but not past what I was able to do. I enjoyed it and I will be back.

Heather McKercher: Inclusive community, intimate studio set up and great teachers. Haven't found a class that I don't enjoy.

Taylor Beaudry: Love love love the Yoga Nidra class. Great vibes all around

J B: I've been going to YIB for almost 4 years now. The instructors are great, the variety of classes keeps things interesting, prices very competitive, and it's a very welcoming studio for people of all ages and experience levels. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's more than a yoga studio, if you go for a while it really feels like a community.

Cynthia McClare: Wonderful community and amazing teachers. So appreciate the variety and quality of classes offered.

Heather S: Best yoga studio in Calgary. Very relaxed atmosphere, great yoga teachers and karma volunteers are awesome.

Chelsea Houston: Positive:Quality

Leah Sullivan: Cool space, very friendly staff. Only been to one class so far, but the instructor was great. Prices not too bad. All in all, definitely recommend.

Not at all the vibe at Pure. The instruction is outstanding. People are welcoming. There is a fun and lively staff culture. YogaMCC (Yoga & Meditation Center Calgary): what do users think?

Evonne Black: For a number of years I would buy passes and attend drop in classes at YogaMcc. Last April I decided to take out an annual membership and I feel like it was the best health investment I have made in myself for a long time. With the freedom to take any drop in class I wish and the discounts on registered classes and workshops I have really been able to expand my own personal knowledge and my yoga practice. The benefits of solving the issue of constant shoulder pain through critical alignment classes, improving my yoga poses through slow flow, or learning to just breathe in Daemond's Clarity Breathwork workshop have combined to provide me with a feeling of restorative health. At my annual Physical Check Up with my Doctor today she asked me "what are you doing different that your overall health has improved so much?" I sent her the link to YogaMcc. Continuing on as a full member is the gift I will happily give my body for another year!

Crystal Coulthard: I recently moved to Bowness and started going to YogaMcc. It's such a cute studio with the friendliest staff and teachers. I've really been enjoying the classes. They aren't too big and each time its a little different than the last one. The classes are also a great price. I would highly recommend checking them out!

Anna Harland: I've been taking the Hips & Hammies and then the Restorative/Yoga Nidra class on Sundays with Bree. Bree is an excellent teacher with incredible knowledge of anatomy and a talent for creating sequences that really support the relaxation of my nervous system. I have felt truly rested - a great way to begin the week.

Jamie k: because it's in my neighbourhood. The studio is small and not as fancy as other studios that I have been to in the city so far, however, I will continue my practice here because it has a sense of community and the weekdays hours work with my work schedule. I like its simplicity and modesty that the studio seems to represent as well. My only wish is that they would have a couple of evening classes on Friday and on the weekends too as I might not be around till later in the day for the weekend and it would be nice to head to the studio to wrap up the day on a mat on the weekends as well. Just a wish.

JakeJoy Mulyk: I really love this space! It is so precious to have a neighborhood yoga studio - we invest in each other! The instructors are amazing and the classes are so diverse. They have a lot of options and so far, I have always had room for my body in the studio. Each class is a comfortable challenge - thanks so much!

Cathy Jenkins: I’m doing the two week trial membership at YogaMCC. It is such a great deal. There are so many classes and the instructors are all excellent. There is something for everyone and they were open every day of the Easter Long Weekend! I’ll be signing up for a month to month membership when my trail is over!

Spectrum Spanish: Great leaders, calm space, right in Bowness. Wish there was more gear in the shop, maybe reselling used gear from members as well. Linking online to a class has been a life saver for mornings where I slept in, when I wasn't feeling great or when I am out of the area. :D

Lisa Thornhill: I recently discovered YOGA MCC Bowness location thru a friend’s recommendation. I bought the introductory pass which has given me a change to try out several classes.I love the studio and the variety of classes offered there. I also like that it’s not a “Hot” yoga studio. All the teachers seem very well seasoned & knowledgeable. Staff is also very friendly too and makes you feel welcome. I will definitely continue practicing here.

Chelsey McConnach: Beautiful studio, very friendly staff, great yoga instructors and classes, highly recommend !

Aditya Rayala: I love the critical alignment class taught by Marnie and Bev. I feel so good, physically and mentally, after the class. Thank you for recharging us with positive energy and health!

Teodora Marshall: I would highly recommend Amy Bidrman’s Yoga for Backs on Tuesday mornings at Yoga MCC in Bowness. She has a lovely, clear soothing voice and is able to give precise and easy to follow instructions. She is also very mindful of how delicate backs can be, so she demonstrates and gives clear instructions for all poses. Her class is a joy! And my back feels great after one if we yoga classes.

Izzy Hutchinson: I love Yogamcc. It is a warm environment with lovely people.

Rob Carlson: Man in my 50's getting started with Yoga. YogaMcc's beginner classes made it easy to get started.Wish I had done it sooner. Yoga is helping with many of my old sports injuries.

Nahnciaa Rutorford: Yoga in bowness has been a lovely experience. Ali has been so kind and helpful guiding me through the being of my yoga journey.

Jasmine Battenfeld: Lovely place and amazing teachers that explain movements well and give options for each level of attendee. My favourite Carla’s is hips and hammies.

Marvin Wiebe: The Bowness location is a really nice small studio with a welcoming feel. I have tried a variety of classes and all have been lead by excellent, knowledgeable instructors.

Judy Aitken: I’m really enjoying the Healthy Aging classes at Yoga MCC Bowness location. Alex is a great instructor, providing us with new experiences every week. She explains the poses well along with alternatives. She has a very gentle, warm and caring nature which I appreciate. The studio space is wonderful and the staff I’ve met so far are very welcoming. I will definitely be attending more classes at this studio in the future.

Emily Dulong: I participated in the Somatic Savy Yoga for anxiety and depression facilitated by Marin and it exceeded my expectations. I am taking away numerous new meditation and breathing skills to use in my everyday routine. Marin is passionate and dedicated to her work, always learning and evolving the program she offers.

Amy Reimer: A very welcoming and safe environment! Staff is very friendly and helpful! I very much enjoyed the sound & ritual course and will be coming back for my course and classes in the future!

Meagan Heard: I recently attended a beginner's yoga class at Yoga MCC, and I was blown away by the experience! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The instructor, Anne, was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. The studio space itself was serene and immaculately clean, providing the perfect environment for relaxation and focus. Overall, I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and eager to continue my yoga journey with this exceptional studio. Five stars without a doubt!

LIV Yoga+Wellness | Massage | Wellness | Yoga: what do users think?

James Kaufman:

Andrew Duffy: Good Yoga classes with lots of choice on time of class and type of practice. The massage team is great. I have attended Smaadhi / LIV since 2012

Carolyn Cameron: All of the RMT staff here are incredibly qualified and great at what they do - I came to Michelle with a badly kinked neck and she was able to use a combination of cupping and RAPID technique to give me some relief!! So grateful for this gem downtown ♥️

Liz: I've been enjoying the lunch time yoga/barre classes. The teachers are generally friendly and personable. I love the cozy yet stylish atmosphere. Always looking forward to the classes.

Kirsten Sarmiento: also give awesome advice when it comes to self care.As well, LIV was able to accommodate a last minute massage appointment for me. Thanks LIV!

Cass Park: The yoga class on Sunday morning with Mija is one of the best I’ve ever been to! She challenges you but still keeps the class in a zen and calming practice. Anyone looking to expand their practice this is the best class to attend!

Nicole D.: Love their aromatherapy massage.

Alberta Yoga College: what do users think?

Pamela Backus: Stephanie and her team are lovely! It was such a great learning experience with amazing teachers!

Ashtynn Saarikettu: The yoga teacher training course was a wonderful experience that gave me the knowledge and skills I need to go out and teach yoga with confidence! Thanks AYC!!

Yoko: The best yoga experience ever! The teachers there are so warm-hearted and they could create a safe environment for everyone to practice. I would like to keep in touch with them always.

Karl Sonnichsen: This was such a great experience. The Alberta Yoga College has such a welcoming group of treachery and volunteers that you really feel as though you are part of a family. The training is thorough and prepares you to continue on with your yoga journey.I’m so grateful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to come back to participate in classes and build on my knowledge.

Mikki Sparks: I just completed the 200 hr teacher training program at AB College of Yoga. It was an amazing, professional, inspirational, extremely thorough program. The teachers really care about their students and the instruction is top notch. Thank you Stephanie, Rob, Bonnie, Sara, Victoria, Krista, Shanda and Curran for sharing your expertise and encouraging us to be the best yoga instructors we can be!!

April Girling: Best place you’ll ever go one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! All the people are amazing the community is the best made me feel so included

Emma Colvin: but the flexible hybrid format which offers a choice between in-person and online participation was an invaluable accommodation for me. Even though I was learning remotely, the sense of community was still strong.I can’t thank the AYC enough for their compassion and expertise. I wouldn’t trade my time with them for anything and I continue to enjoy their public classes and their convenient on-demand library!!

Bingxi Wan: Just have completed 200HR YTT program. Fantastic experience and the happiest time ever, enjoyed every moment! learnt so much and have built up confidence on teaching as well.

Vanita Sapre: If you are a mid or an expert yoga practitioner, AYC will teach you that learning yoga is an ongoing process and like me as a beginner, if your knowledge about yoga was limited to “how to fold and unfold yoga mat” then start your beautiful journey of learning yoga at AYC. I was fortunate enough to introduce yoga to my 15yr old daughter through Alberta Yoga College and together we both completed 200 hours of teacher training program in fall 2021. I had many questions in my mind before joining this program, such as - How to perform a right asana? What is the relationship of anatomy with yoga? What is yoga philosophy? Is it important to know all Sanskrit yoga pose names while learning yoga? Where and how do I complete my personal practice? How do I master my teaching skills once I complete my certification? I entered with zero knowledge and ended my training with more than enough knowledge to call myself a certified yoga teacher. Highlight of the program was learning about different sages where history of yoga was well protected. The beginnings of yoga were developed by the Indus-Sarasvati civilization in Northern India over 5,000 years ago and after completing this course, I understood why yoga is still in demand in today’s sedentary lifestyle.

Bonnie Heine: I recently graduated from the Alberta Yoga College's 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and I could not be more satisfied or more grateful to the faculty. The knowledge of the staff, the very early introduction to practice teaching and the recognition of ancient wisdom with modern science made this an ideal program for me. I am confident to move forward in my new career as a yoga professional, and better yet, I feel supported and encouraged to do so!Alberta Yoga College did such a phenomenal job of creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Students are encouraged to ask questions and to think outside the box which allowed for some great conversations, innovations and laughter! This program touched on the physical, spiritual and mental aspects of yoga, and the College really has collected some of the greatest instructors in the city to teach from their experience/expertise.If you are debating a 200 hour yoga program, to deepen your own practice, or for a possible career change, I encourage you to put AYC at the top of your list. There's an amazing community surrounding the college, and the support seems to be never-ending.Thank you AYC for the most amazing opportunity. I am forever grateful to be an alumni!PS - If you're just looking for public classes, and a space that will welcome you with open arms, come check out a class. We always have a blast and leave feeling strong and recharged!

Cristina Baldan: Amazing teacher training program! I learned more than I thought. And it is not only for prospective teachers, but for everyone who want to know more about yoga for personal growth.

Lucy Mary: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality

Terri Illingworth: I have been attending classes at the Alberta Yoga College for the past year and a half and I am annoyed that I didn't start sooner! My Iyengar background makes me very particular about yoga, and I have been delighted with the quality of classes. I enjoy the variety offered and the experienced and knowledgable instructors.I have connected with other students and instructors alike. There is a great community feeling to the studio. Rob, the fearless director, maintains his enthusiasm, professionalism and humour without fail. I cannot say enough to recommend the Alberta Yoga College.

Melissa Wilson: I recently graduated the Alberta Yoga College's 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. It was a positive experience for me, I entered the program with a limited knowledge in yoga. I found the program to be very well rounded. Offering a good balance of Asana training, Yoga philosophy, Anatomy and many other modules that gave me a great introduction into the world of yoga. The instructors are very experienced and offer a lot of knowledge in different areas as well as constructive feedback. My personal yoga practice improved immensely and I appreciated the coaching that was offered. The communication before the program began was helpful in preparing me and the director, Rob, was always very quick to respond to my inquiries. I had many questions before signing up and Rob took the time to talk to me and discuss the program before I committed. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is considering it, after 3 months of training I feel confident to move towards a career as a Yoga instructor as I was given the tools to succeed.

Stephanie Ralph: Alberta Yoga College gives the BEST, well-rounded yoga experience. Whether it’s public yoga classes or the 200TT, Rob and the team are very knowledgeable and are truly invested in your experience and growth! They are engaging and truly can’t hide their yogi excitement! If you are considering the teacher training, all I can say is, don’t wait. The experience is like no other; one for which your mind and body will thank you.

Aera Ladell: My RYT-200 training at AYC was amazing. A 10/10 experience.

Yaela Tal: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityVery well structured hybrid model of online and in-person classes. A great program which touches upon many, many aspects of yoga. We studied different types of yoga like Yin, yoga for seniors, yoga for kids, vinyasa and more. Highly recommended. This program exceeded my expectations.

Deborah Dedrick: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityAmazing Teacher training program - so complete and well rounded. Rob and the team are incredibly knowledgeable and great instructors. The program absolutely exceeded my expectations and I feel well prepared to start teaching my own classes. If you’re considering a teacher training program, this is the one to take!

Soul Hot Yoga Inc: what do users think?

Sarah Wheeler: Such an amazing yoga studio! I originally joined after hurting my back doing CrossFit, and never planned to stick around after my intro month, because I didn’t think yoga was “my thing”. But I ended up absolutely loving the classes, the community and the variety. Joining was an amazing addition to my physical and mental health. Thank you soul!

Nataliia Pasichnyk: Great relaxing place. Nice customer service. My yoga class was really good

C J: , and cold lemon grass towels at the end of every class keep us coming back. We look forward to many more years practicing at Soul. Everyone belongs here.

Jason: Great studio full of great teachers.

Jennifer Keable: Soul has been my yoga haven for years, and it never fails to impress. The space exudes tranquility, and the instructors are unparalleled. The Owners go above and beyond, ensuring every member feels truly welcome. Thank you, Soul, for being the heart of the Calgary Yogi Community!

tom mannix: Just signed up for the intro month and after 2 classes I committed to 3 months unlimited. Love everything about this place, the room is warm and calming, the staff/teachers are excellent, a wide variety of classes and times, nice change rooms with showers/lockers, and the cold lemon grass towels at the end of class are so refreshing. Couldn't be more grateful to have found this studio!

Gabriela: I loved Pryianka's class! Even though I experienced her class as a sub at a different location, I know I will now come to the studio when she is teaching. Her precise and clear instructions, her demonstration of the poses not only in front of the class but in each corner of the room, the gentleness of her movements, the integration of singing bowls sound, it was absolutely perfect.Thank you Prianka, it was just what I needed in that moment.

Melanie Forsyth: My hubby and I started the 7 day free trial this week and have done 2 classes and this is our studio!! Junction 9 Yoga & Pilates: what do users think?

Virginia: All of the staff and teachers are amazing! The studio is clean and well laid out. In the summer, some classes are held on the rooftop, which is so epic!!!Thank you! 🙏🏼

Violet de Matos: After a co-worker and I had been searching for some time, we finally found Junction 9. I immediately understood and aligned with their core values. From the moment you step in, this place transports you to a space where you just feel good. The atmosphere they’ve cultivated is really special and it is sincerely what sets them apart. The staff are wonderful and big personalities are welcome. Come as you are, start with where you’re at, because as you are and where you’re at are just perfect - that is the message we got. They focus on fun, inclusivity, and wellness. It’s the best place to be and it will leave you counting down until your next class! Couldn’t be happier to have found this gem.

A M: Lovely space and lovely teachers. I always enjoy my time there.

Nash: Super friendly front desk, amazing facility and absolutely exquisite cookies, coffee and snacks

Paige Neilson: First time doing Pilates and this studio was so welcoming! JoAnna was great! Definitely will be back 💓

Tom Roberts: Excellent, welcoming staff

Ada Fung: Fun work outs, love the instructors for both yoga and Pilates!

Parm Poustchi: I tried one class when I was visiting Calgary, and I absolutely loved their studio. The space was nicely designed and it was super clean. Staff and instructors were also very friendly and polite. Will go back whenever I’m back there for sure.

Sophie Atkinson: The classes at Junction 9 are awesome. Super friendly staff, workouts feel challenging and productive. My only concern is the way they do bookings. You can book extremely far in advance, so any time you want to book a class within the next week you are usually put on a waitlist. Sometimes even the waitlist is full. I’ve talked to people in the studio that say that they book 2 classes a day for 2 weeks out and then just cancel they day before if they don’t feel like going. I spend a lot of time checking my place in the waitlist trying to schedule life around what mayyyy be a class for me. I really wish they would consider only letting people book 72 hours in advance, making for less cancellations and no/shorter waitlists. Every other aspect of this studio is great.

Trevor Harley: Love their yoga sessions

J: Cool place! Flexibility and range of motion definitely improved after attending classes!

Brittanny Faust: , but I still don't feel out of place. The online/app booking works super well to manage and plan ahead or day of.Lovely people all throughout.

M Beard: What a great place! Not only is the studio absolutely stunning, the Pilates class was amazing and the ladies who work there were so very kind and helpful! I was just in Canada for a couple days so I wasn’t familiar with the area. They gave me lots of referrals for good restaurants and even went out of their way to make reservations at one of those recommendations for me! Thanks Kailey! If I lived in the area I would definitely be a loyal client!

Haley Eyre: recommend this place to everyone!

Trico Centre For Family Wellness: what do users think?

Lori Huntley: I’m a senior with some physical limitations, have been attending Trico Centre for a few months now and am feeling better than I have in years. I’ve used the gym, the pool, the weight room, have attended several classes including yoga, and am currently participating in the 40 day challenge. The staff are courteous and professional. I love it here!

Kellie Stanford: Loved the 40 day challange so much that im doing my own challenge now ..Awesome gym feels like a little family.. very clean. Its also totally would recommend.

KittieKat_YYC: Its only 4 stars because the best part is gone! They took out the water slide which was so awesome!!

Jane Kwas: Have been using Trico fitness Centre for 10 years. Very pleased with it. The fitness staff are great as they are visible, helpful and friendly. The 40 day challenge is just that and have learned new things from participating in it the last few years. Front desk staff also get a thumbs up.

Karen Chow: The Trico Centre has so much to offer: A well equipped gym, TRX stations, a walking track, a pool, hot tub, ice rinks. An extensive selection of classes is included with memberships. Staff and other members are very friendly. The facility is very clean. Most importantly people of every age and fitness level will feel welcome!

Debby Orr: I love being a member of Trico. During the 40 day challenge was fun getting the opportunity to meet more people and try different classes and equipment. My husband and I have looked at a few Centres and Trico is not only affordable but it provides many classes that are included in the membership price and the instructors and personal trainers are the best we’ve seen.I feel so much stronger than when I started back!

Jordan Leigh: This place is truly the best. They offer kumon learning, the rink, the pool, the gym, the daycare/after school care, preschool, and a place for seniors to come and get together and play cards. Not to mention the Jugo Juice that has finally opened and the physio place. I go to the gym regularly at Trico and it has been the best place for me to workout in thus far, and I have gone to 3 other gyms before this one. Very clean and everyone is nice! 8/10

Glen Reize: Our son absolutely loved his time here. Definitely a highlight in his week.

Kaytlan O'Brien: My daughter started out in First Steps when she was 2.5 and the program and teachers were phenomenal. She was waitlisted for it in 2024 but as she was older we her into the Kids Klub and the teachers are just as amazing. Everyone is so kind, patient, attentive and the quality of the program is great. I highly recommend the preschool programs, they are the highlight of my daughter’s week. My only complaint is that they aren’t daily 😂.

Melanie Mendes: Kids Klub is a lovely program that my child just loves. Sweet teachers and fun crafts.

Stuart Huckabay: Good facilities with an easy to navigate website when registering for swimming lessons. Parking can be difficult on weekends so arrive early. Prices for the lessons are a good deal when you break it down in a per lesson cost. Will continue to come here.I saw a lot of reviews about concerns regarding the change rooms and genders. There’s signs posted so don’t get mad at Trio for parents who can’t read. Also if they are single parents it could be difficult to follow 100%. People need to lighten up and go about their business. It’s 2024.

Jennifer Langton: Awesome friendly instructors! Always have great experiences.

Derek Kuntz: Our 5 year-old loved the Kangaroos & Crocodiles program. The instructors all have tremendous passion for what they do and it shows up in the kids smiles. Highly recommended.

Tory Disturnal: Great place to work out love the 40 day challenge and also I great place to work

LJ Gauthier: I've been going to Trico Centre for many years and have always found it to be the cleanest, safest and friendliest place to take my kids when they were young and it still is now that I'm a senior and using the gym and going to yoga classes. I highly recommend this place!

Linda: The 40 challenge is a great kick start for getting in shape for summer. Fees are affordable to join Trico and then there are many classes included in membership fees. They have up to date equipment in the gym if you just want to do your own thing.
