4worldlovers: Riley Park is a beautiful destination park in northwest Calgary within walking distance from the Kensington shopping district. The park contains a cricket pitch, wading pool and the Senator Patrick Burns Memorial Rock Garden.

Riley Park is located directly south of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, is home to a Calgary Cricket League.

Beat the heat and enjoy the summer weather in Calgary by visiting one of our many wading pools, spray parks and outdoor pools around the city. Spray parks, wading pools and outdoor pools are typically open from mid-June until fall (weather dependent).

Riley Park is home to one of Calgary’s cricket pitches. The cricket pitch can be booked.

This beautiful flower and rock garden nestled within the tall trees along the northern hillside of Riley Park is named for Senator Patrick Burns.

Senator Patrick Burns (1856 - 1937) was a well known Alberta rancher, businessman, and politician. He is one of the Big Four who founded the Calgary Stampede.

The gardens were constructed in the 1950s with more than 20,000 pieces of flagstone from the senator's demolished mansion.​​​​​​​​​​

Riley Park was once part of the 146,000 hectare Cochrane Ranch. In 1888, Thomas and Georgina Riley and their family of 10 children homesteaded the land and in 1909, following Thomas' death, their land was left to The City of Calgary.

Pool rentals are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings 6:15-7:15 pm and 7:30-8:30 pm as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10:30-11:30 am. Cost is $175.00/hour for up to 40 people. An additional $50 will be charged above 40 people.

A water fitness class incorporating the buoyancy and resistance of water to challenge your cardiovascular system and muscle groups. The exercises are done while wearing a flotation belt in deep water. Swimming skills are not necessary.

Do you enjoy getting together with other youths at the Silver Springs Outdoor Pool?

We are looking for enthusiastic youths that want to improve strokes and stay fit at the same time. We will provide the lanes and the coach on Thursday nights from 7:30-8:30 pm.
