Madison Marchi: as an appetizer with a French onion soup and a Nashville spicy chicken sandwich. I would recommend this for anyone looking a chill vibe/sports bar!! The prices were also super reasonable, and it’s in a great spot in downtown Calgary within walking distance to lots of little shops and the Calgary tower! Will definitely return here next time we’re in in town.

Emma Neave: My boyfriend and I have been to notable many times over the past 3 years but nothing compared to the service we received by Ron tonight. From the very start he greeted us with a warm smile and complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Afterwards he helped me decide on a fantastic mead to drink while we dinned. The food as always was FANTASTIC, cooked to perfection, seasoned delightfully, over all completely brilliant. Ron was a wonderful chat and made this experience 1000x better than any we have ever had before. We have always loved notable for their food and atmosphere, but tonight Ron made it special, an anniversary dinner we will never forget. We will definitely be back even more now and won’t ever forget to ask for Ron when we book.

The cocktail menu usually has some new and interesting items, but even if these aren't your style, the bar can nail any off-menu classic cocktail. The wine selection is well thought out and generally good value as well.The restaurant also deserves a shout out for how they did business during COVID, pivoting to a take out menu and very reasonably priced meal kitsIf I had one more minor complaint, it would be that they need to bring back the Peruvian fried chicken Appy.

The staff, especially Stephan, were wonderful and breakfast was amazing. Now that I have insight into parking I will be back for dinner in the near future. Chris Calon: Was at Cesars downtown location on April 18th, and we couldn't have been happier with our meal and service. Mischa our server was absolutely one of the best servers I've ever had. Her attention to us, the table side dishes we ordered were incredible, and she was very personable. I would request her in our future visits. The food was awesome, the location was beautiful, but she made the night incredible. Thank you Caesars and Mischa!

Ji & Di: Pasta was filling and it was good, nothing exceptional though but we’ll have to try other dishes on the menu when we come back so we’ll see.Service was great and we wanted to order more things from the menu but it was a bit distracting being next to where the servers take the food to the tables but we had no other choices given that it was full and our only option was to sit by the bar.

Cassidy Mercer: Incredible experience dining at the River Cafe today. The food and drinks were fantastic and the service was top notch. Our server, Melanie was hands down one of the best I have encountered. She is clearly passionate about the food and knew the menu inside out. Her recommendations were on point. Our glasses were never empty and we never waited more than a few minutes for anything we asked for. Not to mention she was extremely personable, friendly, and attentive. Very pleased and impressed! Rio: This is an excellent place if you're looking for Japanese done differently. This is a yakitoria where the menu focuses on meat skewers using all the different parts of the chicken. There is a catch though: they only butcher a certain amount of chickens each day so some skewers will run out. The menu also features A5 wagyu beef, if you're looking for something to make the night really special.The A5 wagyu almost melted in your mouth, and the flavor was rich and smoky. The skewers were also all incredibly tasty, and even though you only got a couple per serving, trying all of the different parts became filling really quickly.I also tried the Shokunin Tori Ramen, which was unlike any I've had in Calgary. The broth was rich and flavorful, and mixing in the gochujang miso paste made it spicy without detracting from the rest of the meal. The chashu was tender and light, but overall still filling.Lastly we tried both desserts, the kiso creme brulee and sake kasu tiramisu. Between the two I prefer the tiramisu, which was light but packed with flavor.The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and even made recommendations for sake that would pair with the meal. It really made the meal so much better.
Miranda H: Just say yes. Don't worry, there is something on the menu for almost everyone. We had excellent service, some truly amazing bites, and great cocktails. This place is a touch on the pricey side but you are definitely getting some serious quality. I spent some time living in Japan and this place is pushing modern ideas but with respectful nod to the traditional methodology behind Japanese food. Japan is the Foodie Nation and this place does it. Update 2024: Omakase experience is lovely with a direct view of the kitchen and with a chance to chat with the chef and learn more about the ingredients presented. Also recommend if you're looking for a fun experience!

Sabrina Reid: It is a great girls' night in an elevated atmosphere with a buzz. We started with a bottle of the Pelassa Mario’s Bianco - 2018. This wine is a triple blend and is an easy drink; it will pair perfectly with just about everything on the menu. We shared a few delightful dishes:*Shaved Salted Zucchini Salad - the dressing is light flavourful, with a subtle hint of mint.*Crispy Pork Belly - small crispy nuggets, seasoned perfectly, with the best dip with a slight spice*Fried Mozzarella - crispy breading with a perfectly spiced sugo. Cutting into this, the mozzarella pull was drool-worthy!*Funghi Pizza - the whipped fresh cheese was perfection with the wild mushrooms. And if you are a crust lover, this one is thick but light and perfectly crisp!Our server was engaging, keeping our glasses full and knowledgeable of the wine and food offerings. If you want somewhere to relax and enjoy great food and service, make this your next night out!

Which we didn't take, but was super appreciated!This place honestly never disappoints.

Amy Deng: Seems like a go to spot for work lunches. Their daily specials makes the selection so easy, but portions are very inconsistent. The sandwich I had was half the size as my colleague's and I wouldn't have been full if it wasn't for the fries and soup....and I typically eat less than the average person. Lunch service is always busy but service was also very slow.
Farhad Panahi: The food was incredible!Such a nice cut of steak, and it's the first poutine I've ever had that had layers of cheese, not just a few curds on top.Our host didn't seem too enthusiastic about waiting our table but cestlavie. We're not there to make friends.There is also 20% automatic gratuity added to the bill, which was kind of annoying seeing as the waiter wasn't the greatest, so be aware of this.

They have milkshakes and ADULT MILKSHAKES!I go a lot, especially on Sundays with my best friend for our traditional breakfast. I am fond of many things on the menu. The Dirty Double is an excellent double burger and one of my favorite burgers in Bridgeland. The Mac and Cheese Gratin is amazing with a crunchy breadcrumb topping. They have a basic breakfast as well as more complicated affairs.Staff are very friendly and attentive and the food does not take long to come out.I love this place and I'll keep coming back here so long as I can.

Victoria Ridley: The building this is located in is gorgeous. One of the few European esk architectures in the city. A friend and I went for oysters and wine after a show at the Jack singer and I was thoroughly impressed. The oysters were perfect, and the service great. I took one point off for food because they served the bread with oil but not balsamic vinegar. I found the oil a bit earthy and the vinegar would’ve paired much better.

We sat on the patio, it was slightly chilly, so they turned on the overhead heaters and there was also a blanket on my chair just in case. The sun was shining that day, it warmed up our marble table. We ordered their octopus, parsnip and carrot soup, steak and lamb shank. The portions are absolutely huge for the price and it is not one of those fancy restaurants that have insane prices for small portions. Our server was also amazing and made sure we're comfortable and having a good time. Definitely recommend this place and will come back again!
M L: Really enjoyed our first visit to the Bow Valley Ranch. Located in an old farm our it is really incredibly kept. The inside is just as nice. Staff was professional and efficient getting us situated. They have an excellent wine list with some delicious cocktails. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the burrata cheese, and oysters. The duck was an interesting appetizer, but was delicious. Followed that with some steak and scallops. Both done to perfection. Service was present but not overbearing. Dessert is always nice so we had the chocolate crème brûlée. Again the whole things was great. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.
